Book Review: The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf

“The Paleo Solution” was the first book I read specifically about the Paleo diet. While going into great detail on the chemical and physiological processes of the human body and its reaction to gluten and other grains, Wolf makes this a very accessible read for the Paleo noob or nerd. No matter how you roll, this book is filled with humor, personal anecdotes and testimonials, and a great deal of practical advice, recipes and information to get you started. I can’t recommend this book enough.

As someone who has now been Paleo for almost a year, I can tell you that having this book as your basis will go a long way towards your future as another Paleo success story.  You need to have the big picture.  You need to understand WHY you don’t eat certain things, not just the instruction to not eat them.  Knowing the underlying cause of obesity, type-2 diabetes and auto-immune diseases will help you to make better choices when in the grocery store and elsewhere.  Just because it says “gluten-free” doesn’t mean its Paleo or OK to eat.

What I have come to appreciate most about going Paleo is the way in which the grassroots effort to know the truth about where our food comes from, and what we should be eating, has exploded.   This thirst for knowledge and pursuit of truth is what drives us as humans to better ourselves and our world.  You can’t help but be inspired to action through this book.  I hope that it changes your life in the way it has changed mine.

You can find The Paleo Solution on Amazon or other booksellers. You can learn more about Robb and find some FAQ’s, and great quick start and shopping guides on his site robbwolf.com.

If you want to go the extra mile during your commute and get another dose of Robb’s wisdom, you can listen to his Paleo Solution podcast as well. These are extremely funny but also a wealth of information as well. He answers questions from listeners and is a great way to dig deeper into all things Paleo and Crossfit (did I mention he runs a cross fit gym).
